Casey,

Social media has granted me so many opportunities. I've met some amazing people and participated in events, conferences, and conversations that have matured me beyond belief. With that being said, I make sure to devote plenty of time to my family and friends.

A lot of us (myself included) get so wrapped up in social media; Twitter, tweetups, Facebook, blogging, etc. etc. that we begin to think that EVERYBODY is doing the same thing. I mean when people tell me they don't have a gmail account I look at them like they have three heads. What we all need to realize is that some people just aren't interested. Social media is more then a hobby, don't get me wrong, but it's also a lifestyle. A lifestyle that isn't appealing to many and that's ok!

Keeping with 2010 trend, we should make social media more inclusive, but at the same time accept and spend time with those who just aren't it to it. They're cool too and you know what? The people who aren't on Twitter/Blogs/Facebook (ok who isn't on FB, seriously?) are the ones that keep me grounded. They could care less about how many Twitter followers I have or if I got a nasty comment on a post. Family and friends (especially those not into social networking) are who's going to keep us sane in 2010.

I really related to this post, thank you! Cheers to 2010!
